Rhine riesling – Welschriesling

First impression: petrol splashed on a spring meadow. Taste of tannins, attic-dried herbs, grapefruit, chamomile. For its age, its zest is just starting to develop (tasted in February 2023), a real long runner. Recommended for lovers of exciting acids.

Processing: The Welschriesling spent 14 days on skin, half of it partly de-stemmed and half in whole bunches. It was aged in 300 liter Hungarian oak barrels for 17 months. After immediate pressing, the Rhine Riesling spent 5 months in floating-lid plastic tanks, and after blending, 2 months in fibreglass plastic tanks. Bottled with minimal sulphur.
